High-Level Architecture
Infinet’s architecture is built on a dual-layer system designed to provide the scalability, security, and flexibility needed to support both IoT and 5G networks.
Layer 1 (Ethereum): This layer serves as the foundation for governance, staking, and the management of the INFI token. It ensures network security and decentralization.
Layer 2 (zk-Rollups): This layer handles the majority of network operations, including transactions and Proof-of-Coverage. zk-Rollups bundle thousands of transactions into a single proof, allowing the network to scale while maintaining low costs.
Layer 1 (Ethereum)
Ethereum is used as the base layer for Infinet’s governance and staking functions. The key responsibilities of Layer 1 include:
Governance: INFI token holders participate in network decisions through voting on proposals and governance initiatives.
Staking: Validators stake INFI tokens to secure the network, earning rewards and participating in governance.
Security and Finality: Ethereum’s proven security ensures the integrity of transactions and decisions.
Benefits of Using Ethereum:
Established Security: Ethereum is one of the most secure and battle-tested blockchain networks, making it ideal for managing critical functions like governance and staking.
Decentralization: Ethereum’s vast decentralized network ensures that no single entity controls the network, aligning with Infinet’s core principles.
Interoperability: As Ethereum supports multiple tokens and protocols, it allows Infinet to interact with a wide range of DeFi and blockchain services.
Layer 2 (zk-Rollups)
Layer 2 handles Infinet’s high-volume network operations, including data transfers and Proof-of-Coverage validations. zk-Rollups enable the network to scale without compromising security.
Key Components:
zk-Rollup Technology: Transactions are processed off-chain and bundled into proofs that are periodically submitted to Ethereum. This allows Infinet to achieve high throughput and low transaction fees.
State Transitions: All transactions and state changes happen off-chain, with consistency ensured through cryptographic proofs submitted to Layer 1.
Multi-Protocol Support: Layer 2 supports various protocols, including IoT and 5G, allowing different devices to interact seamlessly within the network.
Benefits of Using zk-Rollups:
Scalability: zk-Rollups allow thousands of transactions to be processed off-chain while only submitting a single proof on-chain, drastically increasing transaction speed and reducing costs.
Cost Efficiency: By minimizing on-chain operations, Infinet keeps transaction fees low, making it more affordable for users to interact with the network.
Privacy and Security: zk-Rollups use cryptographic proofs that ensure data integrity without revealing sensitive information, providing both privacy and verifiability.
